Road Construction
Manamboor Grama Panchayat

Thiruvananthapuram District

In 2013-14 Manamboor Grama Panchayat in Varkala Block implemented a project ‘Madan kavu - Manjanivila Road Second Metalling and Tarring’ using Performance grant of Rs. 800000 with 533 m length and 3 m breadth. It is a link road between 2 wards of the Panchayat and about 300 people including school children are the beneficiaries of the project.
Environmental and Social Aspects of the Project
One end of the road is a slope. So during heavy rain there was possibility of deepening the side of the road due to erosion of soil which might create accidents due to deepened curves on the road and soil erosion causes damage to the road. So to avoid those issues, they concreted the sides of the road and provide an Irish drain to avoid side deepening and easy flow of rain water.
Now the road is very safe to the pedestrians and vehicle users. They use the road with at-most satisfaction
