Bridge across Vavupura Stream in Vithura Grama Panchayat (Thiruvananthapuram District)
Bridge across Vavupura stream which is a tributary of
Vamanapuram River.
Chettachal,
a ward under Vithura Grama Panchayat in Thiruvananthapuram District, lacks good road connectivity with nearby
towns. A bridge was sanctioned to the Panchayat at Chettachal in 2015-16 to
help the villagers reach the nearby towns easily.
The bridge constructed by using the Performance Grant of Rs.350000 with a length of 7½ m and width 2.80 m and is designed to allow four wheelers as well.
Mrs.Nisha Pillai, the Assistant Engineer of the Panchayat said, "A people's committee is formed during the formulation of the project to know the requirements of the people before its implementation. 65 people were there in the committee"
The bridge connects Chettachal with Sasthamkavu in Vithura Grama Panchayat.

Around 1000 people including
120 SC families are the beneficiaries of this project.
“The students were the worst sufferers of the lack of proper
travel facilities. Now the bridge reduced the distance to the nearby Anganwadi, UP School,
High school and Higher Secondary School at Chettachal by around six kilometers,”
said Mr.Santhosh, a resident of the area.
