To enhance and strengthen the institutional capacity of the local government system in Kerala to deliver services and undertake basic administrative and governance functions more effectively and in a sustainable manner, the Government of Kerala has formulated Kerala Local Government Service Delivery Project

The Project will benefit all the 978 Grama Panchayats (GPs) and 60 Municipalities in the State. Investments made by the GPs and Municipalities will indirectly benefit the entire population of the State outside the five City Corporation areas. The estimated cost of the Project is Rs 1195.8 crore

The monthly meeting of Head of the Departments and Unit Officers under Local Self Government Department held on 31.07.2014 under the chairmanship of Dr.Rajan Khobragade IAS, Secretary LSGD. The agenda were Plan Review State Plan and CSS, Revenue Generation (PRIs), Utilization Certificate and Statement of expenditure, Physical performance of schemes, Financial performance of schemes, Budget of FY 2013-14 processes, Audit Para review, Assurance review, Court cases review, proposals pending with Govt and other line departments, proposals pending with GoI, priority action plan for next month, pending matters with Secretariat and with HODs. LSGD common initiatives in the coming month, disciplinary action pendency, capacity building initiatives, legislative committee matter, result framework document etc..
